I intended to post a piece I wrote for mlmm soulmates about meeting my husband – a tale of love at first sight.
Then, I came across this song, and well, Roberta expresses it much better than I ever could.
“Our joy will fill the earth” hasn’t always been the reality, but here we are, eight months shy, of 40 years since the “first time ever I saw [his] face . . .”
Roberta first recorded the song in 1969. Clint Eastwood asked to use it in his movie, Play Misty for Me. Roberta wanted to do a new version; the result is in the movie and on her 1971 album, Quiet Fire. (She won Grammies for the album and song.)

love her voice – it’s just, unreal – it’s such a beautiful range and wow, can she capture and return/express emotions and tenderness …. sends shivers down my spine ….
Well so far along the roads well traveled and those less too – and another milestone on the horizon – truly amazing and special, perhaps even more so for all the perils and hardships, and of course, the joys, victories and celebrations, big and small. It’s too early to official wish you both well, but it’s natural to wish you both special moments each day – so that’s my wish. :)

Thanks. Wonder if we’ll actually remember to mark it . . .

Sent you an email. Rediscovering Roberta was a bonus last week.
The other week it was Tracy Chapman and her first album. Exquisitivedly painful and hopeful songs.
