A different sort of muscial musing (Watch MoJo posted to YouTube on Aug 9, 2016.)
If you want a refresher on the [original] Muppet Show guests, a visit to Muppet Fandom provides an episode guide.
Who is your favourite guest star? I’m having fun rememborying the show!

From the list offered: Vincent Price, John Cleese, Julie Andrews, Harry Belafonte, and Elton John! I think my fave though, and I remember it rather in slices, was Elton John. Of course, each star whoever graced the Muppet stage brought something special to the show, which of course in itself, was so much fun. :D

Yep. I looked over the episode list and went “wow!” I remember the muppets more than I remember the guest stars. Of course, I’ve had a secret crush on Beaker for years.
Vincent Price is wonderful. He never took himself seriously.

I agree – it was more about the muppets themselves, but some of the guests were wonderful! LOL@ crushing on Beaker! Beaker is adorable ;)

Yes! I used to have a small soft fabric Beaker, but after spending years at the bottom of my knapsacks and purses, he got a bit seedy. He retired.

oh wow! how cool!
I’ve got an “animal” – he’s about 14-16″ – maybe a bit more – her sits right here, at the kitchen table, watching over me – my “muppet inspiration” ;)
I’ve had many stuffed characters in my lifetime – holy smokes – I mean tons – one of my faves though, was an “opus” – he was too cool … loved him to bits, he had a red sateen heart stitched to his belly, and it said “penguin lust” …. it was brilliant!

As your know, I’m a big fan of Opus! I had two other muppets: a cookie monster hand puppet, and a kermit the frog. Both have gone the way of extremely loved stuffed toys.
Yes, I have a whole collection of various creatures. Aminal — how cool!
Childhood stuffy I remember and loved the most was fuzzy wuzzy (as in fuzzy wasn’t fuzzy, was he; my father named the stuffy). No one was ever sure what was exactly; my mother decided it was a lamb.
Throughout the year, I look for stuffed animals on sale (cheap) and then donate them at Christmas time to one charity or the other. You can get Valentine’s stuffies for 75% off..
I also have a collection of them on the bed. Others are packed away in boxes.
I add to my collection much the same way, though there is a tradition of buying a small stuffed toy in what is now Beso’s Land, in support of public television.
Tragdey struck a few years ago when we had to “dispose” of some of our favourites as the bag inside the box didn’t keep them dry enough. Enough said.
I probably told you the teddy bear story, so I will stop now.

I had tons of them when I was a kid – from a Dino the dinosaur to a Pink Panther – both were large – and a huge Paddington the bear and all kinds of others – including an array I carted back from Orlando – after vising Disney when I was 16. Totally insane. I too “lost” most of them, but was much younger, due to water damage (a minor flooding issue in the basement/garage and even though I had packed them all up (almost all of them) in multiple garbage bags – well …. I salvaged and cleaned up what I could and donated them. Now, I have Aminal/Animal and that’s it; oh yeah, 2 new teddies that were sales items at one of the grocery chains in support of a children’s charity. It’s not easy collecting when you have 4-leggeds who think ‘yum’ – even as they have their own stuff ;) but it’s okay, I don’t mind really. And yeah, I too would often collect and but/donate for charities … but now, I’m my own charity case. Still, it’s a wonderful gesture – because there are so many that go without so much, and toys and things are really luxuries that never can be considered when food and shelter and safety are top priorities!
