As usual, riffing on friday music challenge. This time “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) — Challenge #195.
Okay, when “or Barry McGuire,” was mentioned, I went “Eve of Destruction,” still one of the best protest songs!
So, until I write something, here are some music placeholders: The “original” from 1965, and a live version, with updated lyrics and hints of religion, from 2012. And total rewrite circa 2009/2012. Heck, another rewrite is probably due . . .

I like the new lyrics, very cool. I had no idea that Billy Idol covered this, or the Pogues. Thanks for participating again Lorraine. This was definitely the best Vietnam War protest song, but it still seems valid today.

The lyrics/concept lends itself to other conflicts/issues. Shows how far the world hasn’t gone in over 50 years.
