KL Caley’s #writephoto challenge this week , Portal , (Image by guest photographer, Rebecca M. Douglass ) brought to mind one of my favourite Escher illusions: his puddles.

I wrote this post in January 2108 in response to an image for one of Kat’s Twittering Tales. The object was to tell a complete story in 280 characters — the length of a twitter post.
I’m reblogging this in hopes of writing something not so escheresque for #writephoto portal.

This is it,” Lily exclaimed.
“There very one”, George whispered.
“What I’ve been hoping since you found that map hidden in Escher’s papers,” Lily murmured.
“The puddle of his inspiration,” George completing her thought.
