within rusting walls of an abandoned factory
he fashioned a stage from wooden pallets
shafts of dust-specked sun the afternoon spot-lights
in his post-apocalyptical opera house
sang wordless arias to audiences of bats, rats, spiders
they applauded; feeling, not sound, the joyful noise (280 characters)
singing the praises of Kat’s twittering tale 161

speaking of hallelujah choruses . . .
k d lang’s version always brings me to tears. This Hallelujah is from a celebration of Leonard Cohen and his music on 6 November 2017 at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec. Sure do miss you, Leonard. (b. 21 September 1934 — d. 7 November, 2016)

Inventive take on the prompt especially the audience. Never heard kd’s rendition of Hallelujah and never knew Cohen wrote it. Beautiful cover. She has the voice of an angel.

Yes she does. Ingenue is my favorite album by her. I also love her song, “Damned Old Dog”.
