coffee stained

deadly

water

grist from the gold mine

in the incan mountains

people bleed land and dirtied water

while greed runs like ever open faucet

and the rest, absorbed with gold on their fingers and toes,

act

disinterested as a cat on a hot, human-rights invaded day

Inspired by a piece on The World – a co-operation between NPR, PRI and BBC global (broadcast June 5) on one woman’s battle (physical, spiritual, social activism, generational relationship to the land) against the American backed-mine turning her green world into deadly, dirty coffeed coloured grounds.
