Another comment po.em created from the back and forth between Mark and myself. The word games continue. My comments are in italics. You will find more of Mark’s work @: Coloring Outside the Lines and project21words. Particularly interesting this round, is our overlapping of lines yet forming very separate and distinct po.ems and voices. See his excellent Beware of Words using the same comment thread.

words are snares
sprung in the darkness of lies
laughing in the face of truth
slight sliver of a smile
devils dancing in eyes
demons delighting in hearts
deceit makes a cozy bed
desire embracing the void
but beware
the voice of the flesh

Thank you — still think you brought the conversation together better, but that’s me.

Inspired by your 21 words, I did start a new blog — here’s a micro poem based on our comment conversation.

I like the concise version. it packs a lot in a little. I hope you enjoy the second site. I like separating the two as I tend to write differently when I know I’m only using 21 or less words.

We’ll see — partially to declutter my reg. site from the shorties I write for colour your world prompts, and partially to play with the less is more as you have been.

My goal was to see if there was more people interested in really small poetry or fiction. Guest posts are something I have had mixed results on my original site. I figured opening up to others would have benefits since there was no history with this site.

I’ve found my ability to respond to many of the prompts limited lately — if nothing pops right away, I need to move on. That’s why doing short responses to the colour prompts is good for my thinking process. But it meant too much going on at once on one site. Coupled with the long fiction I’m writing away from the blog entirely — I’m too multi-personalitied right now. And, I do tend to pull up the prompts in one post — sucker me.
Guess I knew about posting to your new site — is it obvious to others you’re looking for submissions? You’re generating interest in your shorter pieces, so that’s a great starting point. There must be other number crunchers out there.

I was giving it a couple weeks to see if there would be any responses. I have two invites out there. This week I plan a general post on both sites and twitter

always expect the unexpected and the Spanish inquisition — no wait, it’s no one expects the Spanish inquisition.

I was thinking more along the lines of Monty Python where the torture is the comfy chair: No one expects the Spanish Inquisition in modern Britain.

Fortunately the US has just the right atmosphere, but have to change that Spanish part. I really have neglected my Monte Phyton
