A bit of flash for mlmm Wordle #133 December 12, 2016.
This week’s words: gnash; lantern; edelweiss; birdseed; capture; heart; askance; descendent; irrevocable; ludic; ashes; curse
Edelweiss sighed. It didn’t suit her ludic demeanor being the descendent of folks with names like Gnash, Bone Crusher, Spittoonia and Garbagene. But it was her curse. Hard to light the lantern in a young man’s heart when his folks looked askance at your heritage. Her words turned to ashes in her mouth; she stumbled over her own feet. It was irrevocable – despite quickness to smile, sparks of gold in her hazel eyes, fine figure and flaxen hair, singledom would be her kingdom. So she scatter-shot her love like birdseed in the dooryard knowing that any move to capture would send her lovers into flight.

Well I’m honoured by your lovely comment Lorraine. And really your flash as you call them are phenomenal.
I loved this one. I particularly liked the line “So she scatter-shot her love like birdseed in the dooryard knowing that any move to capture would send her lovers into flight.” It evokes pain and generosity and so many other emotions. Wow. Amazing.

Thank you Stephanie. I do like the way you can weave a story from the prompt words — one that fits within the pattern.

I agree with Pat that was also my favorite line and the names made me laugh but in comparison to her other family members maybe Edelweiss isn’t so bad lol

Thanks — I keep writing flash when I’d like to write a longer piece so I’m glad this one “worked.” I must admit, I like the birdseed image, too.

Thank you, Michael. I keep meaning to write a short story like you and Stephanie do so well, but flash jumps out. Think my brain is shrinking, lol.
