James was never seen again after setting off down the rutted, puddled road.
James said to his wife, “I’m leaving you and the kids and never coming back.”
James said to his boss, “I quit this stupid-**s job and I’m never coming back.”
James said to his girlfriend, “It’s over, sweetheart, and I’m never coming back.”
James said to his in-laws, “I’m tired of your verbal abuse, I’m never coming back.”
James said to his parents, “I’m sick of Sunday supper, and I’m never coming back.
James said to his dog, “I’m taking a hike, and I’m not looking back.”
It was the first time James ever did anything he said he would. (word count: 100)

I do nightly. Sometimes it works. Not always, but life is never what it seems

Or at least have more control. Sometimes my characters do have minds of their own and write their own scenarios.

Wouldn’t it be a nice world if we could just walk up to everyone and speak our minds. Or them they could all kiss my ass. Unfortunately for me, I landed in a nice area and no longer have these urges. Subject to change

Nice not to have those urges for awhile. Calm, enjoying the world. Takin’ it easy and as it comes. Maybe not subject to change.

To a degree — my characters have a habit of writing their own scenarios.

I wonder how often we all would like to do just that…
start fresh. Be our own boss.
My ‘James’ could have been abducted by aliens…my first thought – but was not.

I think we all have those days when . . .
I like that your James made his decision rather than it was “made” for him.
