She hated the psych meds – she gained 25 pounds, lost 3/4’s of her long, wavy brown hair, began to yawn constantly, became all foggy in the mind and teary-eyed in the emotions, still remaining unhappy and unstable; she understood suicidal far better now.

I lived next door to that poor woman and yes, she needs help and yes it does seem there is none to be found.

Only recently did it become law that mental health had to be considered by health insurance providers the same as physical health and thus access could not be denied.

A lot needs to be done to improve the mental health system — she needs help not readily available.

A common situation, sadly. Over here mental health care is chronically underfunded. It’s still seen as slightly shameful, a guilty secret, I’m afraid, which is odd as so many of us suffer from it to varying degrees.
